If you look at marketing/customer service/sevice in terms of Maslow's hierarchy and try to meet needs above the first 2 levels, you are likely to stand out from the crowd in a big way. Nordstrom's is moving in the direction of Self Actualization, making shopping an experience that provides more than just stuff.

Congrats on the weight loss. I'm inspired and will get busy. Also, surprised you stopped at only 3 stores.

It is the little things that make a difference, and it is unfortunate that most stores don't do it. Though it also has to do with the way the stores themselves treat their employees.
