I am not the type of person that can instantly be comfortable walking up to a complete stranger and Twitter allows the introduction and beginning conversations to take place easily. This makes the first face-to-face meeting comfortable. It also makes maintaing those connections, business or personal, much easier in between the face to face meetings.
