I'm only now realizing the importance and value of adding technology based networking with face to face networking. I have to say that Hazel was responsible for my conversion when I heard her speak at a recent gathering of the Referral Institute.

I would love to do TweetUps as yes Twitter is a great way to get to know people but unfortunately living in a country where the main language isn't the language of my blog nor of my services I don't think a TweetUp would work (plus there are so few people on Twitter from my city, I don't think we could have a TweetUp). ;)

This is my favorite way to utilize Twitter. I am not the type of person that can instantly be comfortable walking up to a complete stranger and Twitter allows the introduction and beginning conversations to take place easily. This makes the first face-to-face meeting comfortable. It also makes maintaing those connections, business or personal, much easier in between the face to face meetings.
